Four shining stars for Fair Trade Furniture in our Chelsea debut
Hello all! Mike here with an exciting update from our very first RHS Chelsea Flower Show – The judges have just presented us with a **4-Star Tradestand Award **
RHS tradestand awards are graded from one to five stars; four stars signify excellent design, presentation and product quality – a remarkable feat for a first-time exhibitor.
How the magic happened
Our stand designer, Jonathan Bloore, took the essence of our feel-good philosophy – relaxed Swedish design, hand-made in Java under Fair Trade principles – and translated it into an open, welcoming space filled with mindi-wood warmth and tropical planting. If you visited us, you’ll know the stars of the show were the brand-new Outdoor Semarang pieces, fresh from their successful spring launch.
The people behind the stars
First and foremost, Hugh Ross and Prue Murray-Ross deserve huge credit for pulling this debut together – from the initial concept right through to the finishing touches on the stand. Their vision, energy and calm perseverance have delivered a result we can all be proud of.
A big thank-you as well to:
- Our Indonesian partners for crafting every chair, sofa and side-table with trademark care.
- The UK crew – Mel, Jane and the wider team who kept the wheels turning through the long build-up.
- And you – everyone who has visited or cheered us on – your support means the world
