The indoor high-sided Semarang chair has been a firm favourite since we launched Fair Trade Furniture. The unique and stylish design features an asymmetrical design with one side higher than the other. The high side creates a cosy corner to curl up in, while the low side offers the perfect height for reaching your drink.
In response to popular demand we’ve modified this chair to make it the perfect spot to enjoy your outdoor space.
The frame is crafted from the same locally sourced mindi wood as the indoor Semarang range, protected throughout – exposed and covered surfaces alike – with multiple coats of marine-grade varnish built to withstand years outdoors. All fixings are stainless steel, so there’s no risk of rust or staining over time. The weave uses Lima Rope, a solution-dyed polypropylene that’s water-repellent, quick-drying, rot-proof, and resistant to mould and fading – designed to hold its colour even in strong sunlight.
Fabrics
We’ve brought together a colourful collection of outdoor solution-dyed acrylic fabrics – water-repellent and UV resistant. Fabric selection does not alter the price of our outdoor furniture.
