This new low footstool is very practical and space-efficient. There are 5 potential positions (shown in the photos), with the top rising from the front end to three different levels, and when at the highest point, the back can also be raised to give a flatter raised position. When not in use the stool can be neatly stowed under the Semarang chair or sofa. The stool comes with a light cushion pad, in our usual choice of fabrics (see below).
The wood is mindi, a sustainably-sourced hardwood which we get from the hills around the Merape volcano in Central Java. The weaving material is seagrass, which grows wild and prolifically near lakes and the seashore.
