Malvern Autumn – last show of 2016
Hello friends and supporters,
We are off to set up our last show later today… Malvern Autumn at the Three Counties showground. So this weekend (24-25 Sept) is your last chance to see us in the flesh, and take advantage of our show deal. It’s a great show in a super location, and we hope to see you there.
Free tickets available
We have two spare tickets for each day of the show. These are now available on a first come-first served basis, so please email us asap if you are interested. We will let you know either way if you are in luck.
New fabrics have gone down really well
One of the highlights of the year for us has been the great reaction to our new fabric selection. The addition of a washable cotton-linen print (Romo’s Cubis collection) has been a great success, as has been the addition of the stunning Vanessa Arbuthnott designs. Shown below are Chella Quince (top left), Vanessa Arbuthnott Bird Hop Kale (top right), Geneva Wasabi (bottom left), Acacia Oyster (bottom right).
So make sure to come and see us if you are able – there is no substitute for seeing the furniture and fabrics in the flesh. If you can’t make it to the show, you can see what other options you have for checking us out personally at this page.
Show visitors – it takes all sorts!
We have had thousands of people visit our show this season. Among the more memorable were this giant policewoman with her bear companion at the Devon show… and the two Yorkshire clowns at Tatton Park.
The chairs continue to get the most fabulous comments and reactions… everyday we hear a new possible slogan: for example from a lovely Bristolian… (you will have to do your own accent) “Oh it’s like sitting in a giant marshmallow!”).
However for cuteness you can’t beat this toddler who took a great interest in our leaflet, and this tiny tot who waited patiently while her Mum and Gran took a few minutes to chat to Margaret.
Sweden and design update
I visited our designer Tord Kjellstrom in Sweden10 days ago. Tord moved back there a couple of years ago with his wife Liza, where they now live in a beautiful old farmhouse in the South. They showed me round the local beauty spots, including their own iron age stones, and the fabulous local beaches.
The Baltic swim was super-exhilarating… as were the discussions we had afterwards about new product ideas for 2017. Watch out – in particular – for a new dining range, which we are hoping to launch in Spring next year. Let’s just say it will be a tad different from the run-of-the-mill dining furniture!
In the latest of our river scenes taken from our office in Salisbury, here you can see me and my daughter Julia enjoying our new inflatable canoe… it’s the perfect way to see the secret delights of the River Nadder, with a glorious surprise view of the Cathedral as you float downstream towards the city.
Thanks for your continued support and interest.
