A retro feel that’s full of personality!

The Bantul chair has a retro feel to it, with an attractive curved back and sleek straight sides, and quirky ‘horns’ and ‘legwarmers’ adding a touch of personality to the chair!

The distinctive weaving is done with banana fibre. The beautiful wickerwork is woven onto a structure of rattan poles.

The result is a neat chair that exudes quality and shows off the sheer craftsmanship of our weavers. Two luxurious feather-filled cushions (from Somerset) complete the feel-good effect.

Perfect for smaller spaces, designed with the space-conscious in mind.

The Bantul range is ideal for smaller conservatories and garden rooms, but also a very good way to provide occasional seating in living rooms, or in any cosy corner. It’s also light enough to take outside in good weather to enjoy your garden.

Chairs and sofas both come in standard/low-back (height 82cm) or high-back versions (97cm). The higher back versions give more support and comfort, whilst the lower versions are great if you want to maximise your views.

Items in the Bantul Range

There are single chairs and a two-seater sofa; both chair and sofa are now available with higher backs (with extra 15cm of height to give more support for the upper back). Matching coffee and side tables are both available. If you want a footstool for this range, we recommend the Kartosuro footstool which can be made in dark banana.

A comfortable and neat set to seat 4 people. The chairs and sofa have a retro feel to them, with attractively curved backs and sleek straight sides; quirky rattan poles and woven leg-warmers add a touch of personality! The sofa makes a surprisingly comfy space for two people to sit side-by-side. The chairs are comfier than most people expect. The side table sits neatly between the two chairs – whilst the coffee table works nicely in front of the sofa. Both have shelves below for a bit of useful storage space. The main material used is dark banana fibre woven onto a rattan pole skeleton. The wooden elements are made using FSC-certified acacia (for seat-frames) and teak (for table tops). Feather cushions are added here in the UK for luxury and comfort. The seat cushions feature a feather down and foam sandwich to make them more supportive.
